This is an adorable piece – I don’t know what species the girl is, but you capture a sort of playful, winsome attraction with her; She doesn’t exactly seem annoyed about being dressed up like a French maid, you know?
The skin tones, shadows, and highlights are really, really well done. I’m kind of jealous of your ability to pull that off. The cloth textures, as well, are well-caught – they’re not overly intricate, but they’re not simply done, either. You give us just enough detail to fill in most of the details on our own without overwhelming the picture. I think that was a good call, whether or not it’s what you consciously aimed for.
I love her mouth, but I do wonder how it is that we see her tongue – is she pushing it forward, almost sticking it out at us? If she had it relaxed, I’d think we’d see her teeth instead, but , in all honestly, I’d probably suggest just leaving the whole inner area in shadows instead. The tongue inclusion is a bit distracting.
The background is a great choice 00 the hearts kind of remind me of soap bubbles. It works really well with the maid outfit. The soft, out of focus colors there also refuse to take attention away from the girl, so that’s pretty cool.
The one thing that really sticks out at me as an area that might need work is her neck – I think it might be a bit long. If we straightened her head up, I think her neck might be about 1/3 its length too long (assuming she has human proportions). A good measure I always use is that a woman’s head should fit between the mid/bottom of her breasts and her chine (using the 7.5/8 heads-height rule). I think you overshot that by a small amount here.
Okay, that’s all I have for now. Let me know if you’d like to have anything clarified, or if I missed commenting on anything you’re concerned about.
Beautiful Work. The Pores and Freckles are a wonderful Detail adding to the Authenticity of the Skin, while the Lack thereof on the Neck subtly strengthens the Impression of the Neck being less in the Focus, more in the Background. The shiny, colorful Reflections on the Hair is nicely realistic, and the colder Teal-Color contrasts well not only with the Skin Color, but with an Impression of Heat conveyed by the Skin's occasional red Spots as well as the Skin's almost tangibly sweaty Shininess.
I would have enjoyed to see more Anatomy on the Ears (her left Ear does not even connect very well to her Head), but the Anatomy of such Ears is, of Course, a Matter of Imagination. The Neck's Tendons however could be a little more accurate, as her left one in particular isn't shaded as nicely as the Rest of the Body and neither does it connect to the Keybone all that well. The white Frills could use some more Shading in some Places, which stands out a little badly against the otherwise superb Lighting.
This is really cute. XD I love the skin texturing and the pose is adorbz. The coloring on the skin is great without being overdone and the overall composition is nice. Really nice job on the lighting and on her eyes, too.
I can only find a couple of things to comment on: the shading on the white cloth around her cleavage seems lacking, and I'm curious about the bounce/rim light on the ears. Those ears, btw, are cute, but I'm not sure how they would work IRL.
Otherwise, everything has a very stylized, well-shaded/textured look that makes the piece very unique and inviting.
xDD I agree with you on all of those, although the structure of the ears could have a more catlike sense to them, if you've seen how they're ears can move around nicely and still look like that kind of way.
There are a few reasons why this is amazing. -Amazing shadowing -Beautiful textures -Her priceless expression And there were two other reasons, but I can't quite place my finger on them...
Good evening! I’m here for Project Comment.
