No problem, I dig your style, I was going to fave some things but for some reason your gallery seems to crash the dA app every time I go to it. I’ll have to recheck from a computer. (The dA app has proven not terribly stable on my iOS devices, it was much more capable on my past Samsung stuff.)

Aww :iconuhuhuhuplz:

Ah, I see! Yeah my gallery is really ... big ^^; I've never used the mobile app before tbh, but it sometimes threatens to freeze my computer when I look at my gallery .Hopefully I'll get the chance to clean it out soon, lol!
Thank you again for your interest in my work

Hello BlackHawk45LC :)

And also hello Filaani, nice to see you again hehe.
I watched your process video and had a scroll through your gallery to dive in a little deeper.
Once I wrote another constructive comment with Filaani as it's subject :D
She has changed but still is very recognizable her :P
A bit more tan and tomboyish.
Her scars once looked like cracks almost and now they transformed in something more slice like.
She has become a little more humanlike then she has been before.
I can't really say if that is a good thing or a bad thing, it's just some .. thing XD
Something I noticed as a change :)
You truly own her essence tho :D
It is almost like she has been just posing for you and not like you have to conjure her likeness from your mind hehe.

The title says : Filaani cautious.
Would I get cautious from the painting without the title?
Not in the first place.
I see it when I''m looking for it, but it is more of a daring vibe I get.
She looks like she just walked through a small passage in between rocky mountains.
A deserty mysterious landscape.
Sandy in tones, misty in how the light gets caught.
She is ready to be quick with her hands ready to pull those revolvers.
But her posture is steady and certain and even a bit seductive,
the sway of her hips and tail, the hands resting on the holsters which are held by the same straps that hold her chest :P
and she looks, she looks right at us.
I guess everything changes depending on what or who we are XD
I do by the way love what you are doing with the atmospheres.
I also saw in the video how the background and atmosphere went through its tweaking and it makes such a difference
on the whole piece.
Gives it the extra bit of story and I've seen you in experimenting with that since the first Filaani I met :)

It was interesting to see your process video because you have such a clean and certain way of setting it up all :)
Once you posted a sheet with different points of process combined with your way of charging for you commissions;
I already had this idea of you having a very organized way of working and the video underlines this.
I really admire it! and just seeing it happen is a bit of an art itself haha.
Still, I can see it happen that having such ways sometimes can blind a bit as you might go with your flows
and that cancels out an objective view.
In this case, I saw her shaping, the pleasant forms building, obviously done as you have done it before,
but ... her upper arms are for example so smoothly shaped they look a bit boneless, although symmetrical.
Her hands are perspective wise, rather logical placed, connected to the arms but the holsters shown, pointing the way they do,
do not seem logical to me at all.
It looks like they are merged into her ribcage almost.
So at first look, it are pleasant shapings, making symmetrical sense.
They make sense in an understanding of the dimensional ways and so might seem right.
But when you truly look at what is happening it becomes a bit strange.
And I think this might occur because of having the ways you do.
You might benefit of taking a step back now and then and trying to describe what you see happening out loud to yourself sometimes, to keep an objective view :)
Or maybe someone else can describe for you while you progress.

Anyways, she looks great :D One lady not to mess with.
I hope my babbling will be of some use for you!
Have a great weekend :)

Thanks so much for such a detailed review. The weapons she has can be seen in this sketch blackhawk45lc.deviantart.com/a…. Would you mind if I sent you a sketch of how her harness works for some feedback?

I was happy to :D
and, ah! daggers! somehow I thought they'd be guns.
I guess to me she has a bit of a western vibe, haha.
But daggers fit her as well, giving a bit more of that .. edge :P
I like to see the harnass sketch yes :)
Happy to share my thoughts about it.

From :iconprojectcomment:

I thought your work looked familiar, so I looked around your gallery and found that necromancer pic I once commented on. Anyway, great job on this piece. Anatomy seems decent. Has a nice curvaceous look to the character, if that's what you're going for. The design is quite unique and interesting. The details an the overall image are very well done. Your coloring is without a doubt excellent, as you're able to very well blend the colors and give a proper solid shape without having to rely on black or dark outlines. Now, despite that, I do find the coloring a little light. The hands and the daggers kinda blend in too easily with one another. The daggers look almost like they're part of her outfit, rather than separate items altogether.

As for the fingers, I do find them a little odd, that the index and middle fingers are the ones being loosened. From her stance, she looks ready to pull them out any moment. However, it isn't exactly a comfortable way to have the index and middle fingers out, as they are the ones that press down and really tighten the grip. The pinky and the weakest finger would actually make it difficult for her to pull it out, or even hold them. Instead, I'd suggest keeping the middle and index fingers wrapped around the grip, while the other two fingers be the ones out, if you wish.

Overall, this is still a very well done piece. Good job on it!

Thanks so much. I am so glad you picked up on her “light on her feet” quality. The Elaisu move much differently than humans, and I have been trying to get That across in my stuff, thanks again so much!!

So glad to hear it. I hope the first book of her story gets published next year. If you feel inclined check out the “Exodus Contract” folder in my gallery for more of her and others from her world. Thanks so much!

I absolutely think it's gorgeous!! The coloring is amazingly soft, and the anatomy is spot on as well as the pose!~ My favorite thing is probably the background, it contrasts so good to the palette!!~

Thanks so much! I had a sense of relaxation the whole time I painted this, I think manifested visually lol! I am thrilled that you pointed out the background, because I nearly just wussed out and just did a gradient.

It's very good that you were relaxed, that's very important to do with art; just take your time and go at your own pace!~ I'm sure a gradient would have been very pretty too, I just really do prefer this background though so I'm happy you decided to go through with it~ >u<
